Senior Handy Services, LLC
Craig Vacovsky and his wife Gina founded Senior Handy Services, LLC in August of 2007 to provide handyman services, home accessibility modifications, home improvement contracting, lawn & landscaping care, cleaning and other non-medical services to assist seniors in staying in the home they choose.
Craig graduated from Towson University in 1989 and went immediately to work for what would become Lafarge North America. He held various positions in his 20-year tenure with Lafarge ranging from Plant Manager and Operations Manager to Regional Project Engineer (erecting, modifying and commissioning ready mix concrete plants throughout the US Eastern Region from Buffalo, New York to South Louisiana.)
While enrolled in the business school at Towson, Craig enlisted in the US Air Force Reserve where he served for 20+ years as a C-5 Crew Chief until retiring in 2006 to pursue his goal of starting Senior Handy Services. Craig served over 5 years of active duty during his military career while being on active duty for Operation Desert Shield/Storm as well as Operation’s Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom and numerous other real world contingencies and tasking's while flying on and maintaining the largest cargo aircraft in the US military inventory.
Craig and Gina decided to start Senior Handy Services because of their experiences with multiple close family members in the different stages of the aging continuum. It became clear that there was a real lack of focus from typical home improvement contractors to the unique needs of our aging population.
It is the organization’s goal to give seniors the ability to stay independent by providing services that allow for an autonomous lifestyle. We are here to assist seniors and their family member’s in taking care of the home, both inside & out, as well as being a resource when modifications are required to help seniors continue to “Age-In-Place”.
